Only a few days left for Christmas!!  Can you imagine how busy Santa must be preparing presents for  all the children. Well, only for those who were good and behave!  ( I guess most of you will get a gift).

¡Solo quedan unos dias para Navidad!  Os podéis imaginar cuanto trabajo ha de tener Santa preparando los regalos para los niñ@s. Bueno, solo para aquellos que fueron buenos y se supieron comportar! ( Creo que casi todos vosotros tendréis un regalo)

It´s the time of the year when American people give thanks remembering how the first pilgrims arrived to Plymouth, and how the American Indians helped them to survive during the winter.

Es la época del año en la que los norteamericanos dan gracias recordando como los primeros peregrinos llegaron a Plymouth y como los indios americanos los ayudaron a sobrevivir durante el invierno.

We can also give thanks for all the things that we have: our family, friends, teachers and toys.

We need to learn to be respetful and nice to other people and friends.

Nosotros también podemos dar gracias por todas las cosas que tenemos: nuestra familia, nuestros amigos, los profesores y los juguetes.

Necesitamos aprender a respetar y ser amable con otras personas y nuestros amigos.

Dear little monsters!

HALLOWEEN IS HERE! and we are getting ready for the super scary parade that we will have at school next Friday.

5 years olds, first and second graders are choosing their costumes  and learning Halloween riddles and songs to celebrate this festival.

Queridos pequeños monstruos!

Ha llegado HALLOWEEN y nos estamos preparando para la cabalgata que celebraremos en nuestro colegio el próximo viernes.

Los alumnos de 5 años, los de primero y segundo de primaria, ya están eligiendo sus disfraces y aprendiendo adivinanzas y canciones de Halloween para celebrar esta fiesta.

 October is the month of the harvest .  Families in the USA visit the Pumpkin Patches at this time of the year. A Pumpkin Patch is a place where you can find lots of pumpkins!. 

You can cook the pumpkin in a delicious pumpkin pie, or you can decorate it  and make a scary 

Jack O´Lantern.

Octubre es el mes de la cosecha. Las familias en Estados Unidos visitan los huertos de calabazas en esta época del año. Un huerto de calabazas es un lugar donde puedes encontrar  montones de calabazas!. Puedes cocinar un delicioso pastel con la calabaza , o decorarla y hacer una Jack O´Lantern para morirse de miedo.

Welcome Back to School !

Hey kiddos!

 I hope you and your families  have had a fantastic vacation time. I am excited about the new school year and all the fun we can have in the classroom while learning English!

First and second graders have already signed the classroom behavior contract , and they are ready to show their best behavior, and enjoy the  Trophy they can take home during the weekend if they  follow the contract lines.
Let´s review them :

Espero hayais pasado unas fantásticas vacaciones con vuestras familias. Estoy muy emocionada con la llegada del nuevo curso y con muchas ganas de que os divirtais en la clase mientras aprendéis inglés.

Los alumnos de primero y segundo ya han firmado el contrato de comportamiento en la clase, y ya están listos para mostrar como lo siguen , y disfrutar del trofeo que se llevarán a casa durante el fin de  semana aquellos que mejor lo cumplan.

After a school year plenty of hard work .... it´s time for the Summer Holidays.
I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe time with your family and friends. Don´t forget to pass by our blog and read some on line books, listen to stories and have fun playing some games while practicing your English.
Holidays is a perfect time to  imagine stories about pirates and treasures...here you have one that happened to a kid like you while vacationing near the seaside..... have fun!

Después de un año lleno de esfuerzo....llegaron las vacaciones de verano.
Espero que paséis unas vacaciones estupendas con vuestras familias y amigos y que os cuidéis mucho. No olvidéis pasaos por aquí de vez en cuando para leer cuentos on line, escuchar cuentos y divertíos jugando a la vez que practicáis el Inglés.
Las vacaciones son un momento estupendo para imaginar historias sobre piratas y tesoros... aquí tenéis una que le sucedió a un niño como vosotros mientras pasaba sus  vacaciones a la orilla del mar....pasadlo muy bien.

We are so happy to share with you that during these last weeks of School , students made an extra effort to keep on following the classroom contract and being nice to their friends in the classroom.

¡Hola chicos!
Estamos muy contentos de poder contaros que durante las últimas semanas de clase, los alumnos hicieron un esfuerzo extra para continuar cumpliendo el contrato de clase y ser amable con los compañeros.

These second graders not only were super good friends, but also helped and cheered up their classmates when they needed it. Congrats and keep on behaving in this way!

Estos alumnos de segundo, no solo fueron super buenos amigos, sino que también ayudaron y alegraron a sus compañeros cuando estos lo necesitaron. ¡Felicidades y seguid portándoos así de bien!.

VIAJE A LUPIANA

VIAJE A LUPIANA
El jueves 27 de mayo, los alumnos del CEIP Ocejón hicimos una ruta a pie por los caminos rurales de Lupiana.

El viaje empezó a las 10:00 horas. Salimos en autobús desde el Colegio y después de un breve trayecto, llegamos a la plaza de Lupiana (su famoso monasterio se veía en lo alto).

En la plaza nos recibió una “nube de algodón” proveniente de los álamos, que hizo que a algunos nos picara la nariz.
Javier, el profesor de Educación Física, comenzó el camino y todos le seguimos. Pero unos cuantos nos quedábamos cada vez más rezagados. Después de un rato bastante largo (casi una hora) paramos y nos comimos el bocadillo del recreo. Cuando terminamos y habíamos recogido todos los desperdicios ,continuamos la marcha que duró otro buen rato. Todos los de 2º llegaron hasta la “meta”, pero algunos de 1º no lo consiguieron y se dieron la vuelta antes que los demás.

De regreso, llegamos al parque de Lupiana y allí jugamos un rato, a la vez que esperábamos a que llegaran todos los compañeros.

Luego, en la plaza, hicimos grupos mezclando alumnos de las cuatro clases. Javier había preparado unos dibujos con diferentes animales y teníamos que agruparnos según el animal que habíamos cogido. ¡Estuvo muy bien!
Con los grupos formados nos fuimos hasta el campo de fútbol y practicamos distintos juegos. Allí comimos en el césped (aunque hubo algunos que estuvieron comiendo todo el rato).

Como postre, la mayoría de nosotros, fuimos al bar y nos compramos un helado. La verdad es que nos apetecían bastante.
Después recogimos nuestras cosas, aunque nos costó bastante encontrar a los dueños de algunas gorras y chaquetas.
Dejamos el campo de fútbol sin un papel y regresamos a Guadalajara llenos de polvo, de polen, de helado… Pero muy contentos.

¡ El año que viene repetimos!

Los profesores que nos acompañaron fueron Noemí, Mª Angeles ,Cristina, Pilar R. y Celia.

Where the wild things are by  the American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak. Don´t forget to be good to your parents, but  if you get mad with them, and find a monster in your way, there is a trick to tame him: Stare him into his yellow eyes without blinking once!.

Aqui esta la lectura de la semana: Donde viven los monstruos, escrita e ilustrada por el escritor americano Maurice Sendak. No olvideis portaros bien con los papas, pero si alguna vez os enfadais con ellos y se cruza en vuestro camino algún monstruo, hay un truco mágico para domesticarlo: Míralo fijamente a sus amarillentos ojos ¡sin pestañear ni una sola vez!.

Maratón de Cuentos-Telling Stories Marathon

The Telling Stories Marathon is coming to Guadalajara from June 11th to 13th. This year we will have the opportunity to listen to story tellers coming from different cities in Spain. Some stories will be for children, some others for adults, but all of them will make our imagination have a wonderful time.

El Maratón  de cuentos llegará a Guadalajara del 11 al 13 de Junio. Este año tendremos la oportunidad de escuchar a cuentacuentos llegados de muchos lugares de España. Algunas historias serán para niños, otras para mayores, pero todas harán disfrutar a nuestra imaginación.

On May 7th, We met the illustrator Rafael Salmerón. He autographed some books that he had illustrated and he also drew some illustrations for our classes!
